Until about 3 years ago I never wrote a poem in my life. I never even knew there was a thing called spoken word.
And if it would not have been for my morning pages I mostly likely would have never written a poem in my life. When I found myself caught in a deep well called my life, every morning, I would write three A4 pages without thinking. Without a goal, just knowing I had to do this. After some time stories and poems just started to flow out. It taught me to write from the heart not the mind (that thinks words need to be smart, witty and pretty.)
These pages unlocked my creativity and became my everyday guide.
This practice is part of the Artist Way by Julia Cameron.
And book / 12 week program, which has sold already millions of copies for a reason. In short: It helps individuals unlock and nurture their creativity and overcome creative blocks. It’s not about writing, it is not even about art, it’s about allowing yourself a creative life. Whatever your profession is.
Last summer I wanted to re-do the whole program and asked people to join me for some accountability. Because the first time I did it I gave up half way through. We took on the journey with 24 people. One of these people was Lena Victoria. She also experienced the fun and depth this journey offers.
And we are doing it again!
Lena and I decided to re-do it together and again ask people to join us.
We will create the structure for these next 12 weeks together. Lena embodies depth, creativity, and fun for me, so I am super happy to be doing this with her.
We start on January 17 with 26 individuals (wowie!). It’s a wondrous group of people.
We are doing this at no cost, we are part of the proces ourselves and are exploring creating a structure that we want to offer in the future as a paid version.
So, if you feel a last minute call and wanna join us please feel more than welcome to hop on with us.
Reply to this message if you wanna join or have a question about it.
This interview with Julia Cameron and Elizabeth Gilbert is a great listen if you want to learn more about the Artist Way (which als greatly influenced Elizabeth Gilbert.)
