Picking up the Pieces (also 🎧)
What if all those that broke our hearts were actually there to invite us to love ourselves more?
What if those who almost made us give up on love were actually there to invite love back into our lives?
What if it was not them incapable of loving us but it was us being incapable of loving ourselves?
What if it was not them avoiding us but us abandoning ourselves by holding on to them?
What if it was actually never about them?
Their role was crucial in our lives but often not in the way we think.
Many of us are chipping away little pieces of our being to make ourselves fit. Just tiny little pieces hatched out bit by bit. So tiny you don’t even notice. Until there is a complete hole of tiny pieces. A human-sized gap we need to fill with our own love. But try to fill with someone else’s love.Â
The pieces we hatched out were the pieces we thought were not welcome.
What if, instead of taking pieces from us they were actually guiding us into wholeness?Â
Pointing out the lost pieces. Over and over. Until we decided we are ready to put them all back. The pieces we already lost long before we met them.
So.
Don't make them the object of your pain.
don't make them the object of your affection either.
They were never meant to stay.
They came by to show you where it hurts, but don't blame them for your pain.
One day you will thank them all.
For helping you make yourself whole again.
By showing you the pieces you left behind long ago.
Long before them.
Let your love soften you. Let your love set you free.
Love yourself so much that the only person you are ever afraid of losing is yourself. Love your whole being. Love your chaos. Love your anger. Love your brilliance. Love the parts you want to hide the most.
Love the parts that others said were too much, even more.
Only then will you be able to love their unloved bits as much as your own.
