Men, I love you too, but this one is for the women. The women who picked me up when I was in pieces. The women who carried me. The women who reminded me that the power I needed was always already there, inside of me
And Women, please share this with the wise women in your life. The ones who let themselves be carried by the earth and lifted by the sky. And remind you that the love you needed was always already there. ❤️
If everything would fall away
If I could wish for just one thing
For eternity and beyond
It wouldn't be
Money in the bank,
Eternal youth,
Or a lover by my side
It would be
The wise women,
The ones that stand beside me,
The ones that went before me,
The ones that carried me
When I forgot how to
The ones that remind me
Of the power
Already inside of me
Who make me laugh
In a way
That turns my tears
Into a well of wisdom
Remind me of my light
By not diminishing my dark
Invite all of me
But never sugarcoat me
With their truth
Yet love me deeper
And truer
Than I imagined love to be
The Women who inspire me
With hearts wide open
To face life head-on,
And sometimes
Better than I do,
Love me
When I forget
How to
Inspire me
With their gentle power
To shape and celebrate life,
Not in the grand ways
Or on special occasions,
But in the everyday moments
And gestures
Of fresh lemons
Picked with presence
Poured with love
And drank with devotion
Showing me
Again and again
How beautiful life is
And always already was
In every moment
Who hold their pain
Next to their joy
Let their love
Carry the tremble of their fear
Who own all their pieces
And also remind you
You are made of the gentle breeze
That kisses your skin
And the thunderstorm
That breaks you down
You are the gentle stream
Of the river
And the crashing waves
Of the ocean
Into which the river flows
Beautiful Art by Charlotte Voncken
Will always cheer for those celebrating the ones who support them.
A beautiful ode to the ones who were there when you needed them.
Much love to all of you.
This is truly a devotional, self-less and trusting poem. It touches me in the depth of my bones!
