A little snippet: Play.
PL AY
The loves in our lives are always perfectly cast, even when we
question the script of the mediocre play we sometimes find
ourselves in.
When they cast my co-stars they would say:
He's perfect for the role – strong, sensitive, and smart. She can't
resist that. He understands her being and her incredible sense of
humor instantly.
She will cry her eyes out. Sometimes from laughing. Often just
from crying.
His actions evoke radiance, yet sow seeds of doubt. She'll ponder
why his empathy and tenderness seem so lovely from the outside
but she doesn't feel it within her. His emotional unavailability
presses her abandonment button beautifully. Her emotional
intensity and urge for truth make him want to withdraw.
When they cast me for the play they would say:
She's perfect for the role. She is sweet, gentle, and intelligent. He
finds solace and understanding in her presence. Yet, his withdrawal
stirs her deep-seated insecurities and feelings of worthlessness.
Her intensity and quest for truth might make him feel inadequate
and distant. However, her caring heart, love, and desire for
connection will also make him feel seen, held, and needed. He
craves her closeness as much as he fears it.
Now, go out and play!
